Dark blue (dark) - 4 squares 3 3/8”x3 3/8”
Yellow (medium light) - 1 square 5.5”x5.5”
Green (medium dark) - 2 squares 5.5”x5.5”
Light blue (light) - 1 square 5.5”x5.5”
- 6 squares 2 7/8”x2 7/8”, cut in half diagonally to make 12 triangles
Med. Blue (medium) - 1 square 4.5”x4.5”
- 2 squares 2 7/8”x2 7/8”, cut in half diagonally to make 4 triangles
1. Lay one green (5.5”) square on top of a light blue (5.5”) square and draw a diagonal line from one point to the opposite point. Then lay one green (5.5”) square on top of a yellow (5.5”) square. Draw a diagonal line from one corner to the opposite corner. Now sew a line ¼” on each side of the line for each piece. Cut in half along the line and press open with the seams going to the green. You will have 8 half square triangles; 2 light blue and green and 2 yellow and green.
2. Now lay 1 light blue & green half square triangle over a green and yellow half square triangle. Lay the green of the green & light blue on top of the medium blue triangle. So, light blue against green, green against yellow. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner and sew a ¼” seam on each side of the line. Cut on the line. Press open. Proof to a 4.5” square. You will now have 4 quarter square triangles.
3. Take your dark blue 3 3/8” (dark) square and mark a cross in the exact center on the front if you have a marker that you can wipe away later. Then take your med. blue triangle (med.) and lay it on the square, right sides together (rst) and long edge of triangle along edge of square. Center it by centering it on the marked cross. Sew along this edge

4. Now take a light blue triangle (light) and do the same thing but on the opposite side of the square. Do #3 and #4 four times.
5. Press triangles out and press seam towards dark blue.
6. Now take two more light blue (light) triangles and do the same thing on the two other sides. Do this on all four. Press out. Proof to 4.5”
7. Now lay out each 4.5” square according to the final diagram below and sew a row 1, 2 and 3. Press seams of row 1 & 3 out and seam of row 2 in. Then sew row 1 to row 2 and then add row 3.
